TexasCellNet / ETXRN- Malicious "Security Upgrade" emailMany of our Texas CellNet & ETXRN customers might have received spam emails that look like the one below. This is from a malicious virus residing on a server in the UK and they have been notified. You are always encouraged to call us if you ever receive an email with an attachment, or if we are asking you to download and run something on your PC. We will be making some chages to your IP addresses (Fall 2009 - Spring 2010), but we will rarely ask you to download and run any programs or updates with out giving you a link to read more about it on our website. Dear user of the etxrn.com mailing service!
We are informing you that because of the security upgrade of the mailing service your mailbox ->(keith@etxrn.com) settings were changed. In order to apply the new set of settings click on the following link:
Best regards, etxrn.com Technical Support.
Also, in Outlook and some other email clients, as well as webmail, you can put your mouse over the link and read the real address in the Status Bar at the bottom of the window. This will help you with many links that are questionable, in emails or on the web. Email us with any other questions or concerns about this topic.
Microsoft "Critical Update" emailHere is another spam that is common right now. We want to be sure you understand that you will not receive any emails from Microsoft unless you ask to be on a mailing list.
